Javier Perianes with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 2025
Pianist Javier Perianes returns to Australia this July for a six-concert tour that will once again take him to some of the country's leading concert venues.
The tour opens on 20 July at the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House with A Celebration of Manuel de Falla, a recital exploring the musical connections between Manuel de Falla, Frédéric Chopin and Isaac Albéniz. The programme brings together some of the Cádiz-born composer's earliest piano works alongside landmark pieces by Chopin, culminating in Four Spanish Pieces by Falla and a selection from Iberia by Albéniz.
On 22, 23, 24 and 25 July, Perianes returns to the Sydney Opera House to perform with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Simone Young. Across the four performances, he will perform Piano Concertos Nos. 2 and 5 “Emperor” by Beethoven, in a programme that also includes the composer's Symphony No. 1.
The Australian tour concludes on 31 July in Hobart, where Javier Perianes reunites with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and its Chief Conductor and Artistic Director, Eivind Aadland, to perform Piano Concerto No. 23 by Mozart.
