Javier Perianes travels to China in late October and early November for two appearances in Beijing and Shanghai, combining a concerto performance with the China National Symphony Orchestra and a solo recital.
On 31 October, Perianes joins the China National Symphony Orchestra at Beijing Concert Hall, conducted by Lan Shui, to perform Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major. Entitled French Romance, the programme also features music by Chen Musheng and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique.
One week later, on 7 November, he makes his recital debut at Shanghai Concert Hall. Perianes brings to Shanghai the programme he has devised around Manuel de Falla to mark the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth, exploring the musical connections between Falla, Frédéric Chopin and Isaac Albéniz.
