Javier Perianes Visits the U.S., Performing with the San Francisco, San Diego, and Dallas Symphonies
Javier will visit the United States several times over the coming weeks, from October 3 to November 30.
After a seven-week summer tour through Australia and New Zealand, a visit to London with Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, and recording sessions alongside Tabea Zimmermann and Jean-Guihen Queyras, pianist Javier Perianes is embarking over the coming weeks on a trip to the United States, where he will perform with three of the country’s leading orchestras: the San Francisco, San Diego, and Dallas symphonies.
Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto will be heard at San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall through the artistry of the pianist, joined by fellow Spaniard Gustavo Gimeno on the podium, on October 3, 4, and 5. The program also features Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony and the premiere of Market Street 1920s by Timothy Higgins.
Perianes’s U.S. visit will then continue with contemporary music: Ephemarae, the piano concerto dedicated to him by Peruvian composer Jimmy López, will be performed with the San Diego Symphony on October 11 and 12, under the baton of Rafael Payare. Payare will also lead Perianes on October 8 in a gala dedicated to Manuel de Falla, where the pianist will perform Nights in the Gardens of Spain and flamenco singer Marina Heredia will join for El amor brujo.
Finally, after a short break, Javier Perianes will return to the United States in November (28, 29, and 30) to perform the Nights once again. This time he will appear with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and conductor Jun Märkl, in a program that also includes Suite No. 2 from The Three-Cornered Hat, as well as Ravel’s Rapsodie espagnole and Alborada del gracioso.
During the 2025–2026 season, Javier will return once more to the U.S., in March next year, to perform with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, playing Robert Schumann under the baton of Eun Sun Kim.
